So…when should you book it?

Sarasota works year-round. The answer changes depending on whether you want the nicest weather, fewer people or a better shot at saving some money.

DECEMBER — MARCH

Winter

The gorgeous-weather answer.

Cooler, drier and very easy to be outside. It’s also Sarasota’s traditional high season.

EXPECT More visitors + stronger hotel demand.

APRIL — MAY

Spring

The one I’d look at first.

Warm beach weather with generally less rain than summer, after the heart of winter’s busiest stretch.

WHY I LIKE IT Beach weather without automatically choosing peak winter.

JUNE — SEPTEMBER

Summer

The save-some-money answer.

Hotter, wetter and more humid—but summer also brings lighter crowds and potential lodging deals.

OCTOBER — NOVEMBER

Fall

The quieter wildcard.

Still warm as Sarasota transitions away from summer and toward its busier winter rhythm.

Especially if you’re mixing downtown, Siesta, Lido, Longboat and attractions instead of staying in one pocket.

A LITTLE NOTE FROM BRI

This is the kind of trip I love.

Give me a beautiful beach and I’m happy. Give me a beautiful beach and somewhere good to eat, something fun to do, a hotel I’m excited to come back to, and a reason to put on a cute outfit later? Now we’re talking.

That’s why I like Sarasota.

I don’t want every day of vacation scheduled down to the minute. I also don’t want to spend a bunch of money getting somewhere and realize halfway through the trip that we missed the good shit.

Give me a loose plan. A really good place to stay. A few things I know I want to do. And plenty of room for fuck it, let’s go there.

South Lido first.
St. Armands after.

I like South Lido because it feels a little more tucked away. Mangroves, little shoreline pockets, somewhere to wander instead of sitting in exactly one patch of sand all day.

Then I’m cleaning up, heading toward St. Armands, finding dinner and a drink, and stretching the day out until sunset.

That’s my Sarasota.
